Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Emma & Andrew McCrorey. A great couple who are real surfers along with their friends who’s vehicles lined the driveway with mattresses and surf boards in the back. A beach wedding was their dream and it came true. Interested to know who shares such a dream or has already stood in the sand saying their wedding vows.
Often we are asked what we carry in the boot of our Kombis ~ Well… Big umbrellas, a sewing kit, ribbons, sweets (Love Hearts if you’re lucky), an Esky with plenty of ice, mineral water and champagne, a garter just in case, more sweets, vehicle detailing materials, towels, 1970s props, a long & wide red carpet, an iPod with over 1800 songs from Jazz to Rock & Roll and anything else you might come to mention… and yes the Bee Gees, Lionel Richie and many others to get you in the mood. We also have humour to boot! Forgotten anything?
George scooped a top prize at this year’s 2011 Day of the Volkswagen on Sunday, 6th November. Winning ‘Best in Class ~ Kombi Bay Window 1968 onwards’ he showed his true credentials beating a strong field of wannabe contenders. Mildred was at home as my wife was having a baby but next year we will see who is the top Kombi for hire in Melbourne.
Almost everyone we meet has a story to tell about their childhood adventures in a family Kombi or a trip around Europe in a Kombi bought and sold outside Australia House, London. We would love to here your stories. Please post away…
